Classic Tiramisu
Authentic Italian tiramisu with espresso and mascarpone
Ingredients
- 6 egg yolks
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 1/3 cups mascarpone cheese
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 2 cups strong espresso, cooled
- 24 ladyfinger cookies
- Cocoa powder for dusting
Instructions
- Whisk egg yolks and sugar until thick and pale
- Add mascarpone and beat until smooth
- Whip cream to stiff peaks, fold into mascarpone mixture
- Quickly dip ladyfingers in espresso
- Layer dipped ladyfingers in dish
- Spread half of mascarpone mixture over cookies
- Repeat layers
- Dust with cocoa powder, refrigerate 4 hours
